FAQ S

1. What is Zakat, and Who is Eligible to Receive It?

Zakat is a mandatory charitable contribution in Islam, usually 2.5% of a Muslim’s eligible wealth. It is given to specific groups, including the poor, needy, and those in debt, as mentioned in the Quran: “Zakat is for the poor, the needy, those who collect [zakat], those whose hearts are to be reconciled, [for] freeing captives or slaves, for those in debt, for the cause of Allah, and the traveler.” (Quran 9:60)

3. What Is the Best Form of Sadaqah to Give in Ramadan?

Any act of charity is valuable, but Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity) is highly recommended. Examples include feeding the hungry, supporting education, building wells, and funding Islamic centers, as these provide lasting benefits.

5. Is It Better to Give One Large Donation or Small Daily Sadaqah?

Both are valuable, but giving consistent Sadaqah is more beloved to Allah. As the Prophet ﷺ said: “The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are consistent, even if small.” (Sahih Bukhari)

2. Why Should I Pay My Zakat During Ramadan?

Ramadan is the best time to give Zakat because rewards for good deeds are multiplied during this blessed month. It’s a time of purification for both the soul and wealth. Giving Zakat not only fulfills your obligation but also earns Allah’s mercy. As Allah said: “[Allah] said, ‘My punishment – I afflict with it whom I will, but My mercy encompasses all things. So I will decree it [especially] for those who fear Me and give zakah and those who believe in Our verses.” (Quran 7:156)

4. How Do I Calculate My Zakat Payment?

Zakat is calculated as 2.5% of your Nisab-eligible assets, including savings, gold, stocks, and business income, after deducting debts. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Take from their wealth a charity to purify them and cleanse them.” (Quran 9:103)

6. Does Donating in the Last 10 Nights of Ramadan Have More Reward?

Yes! Laylatul Qadr, which occurs in the last 10 nights of Ramadan, is better than 1,000 months of worship. As Allah mentions in the Quran: “The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.” (Quran 97:3)
