Young Muslim Brothers is integral to the pioneering national youth organization, Young Muslims (YM). With a presence on the youth scene since the early 90s, YM has established a well-organized network of local youth groups, referred to as NeighborNets, spanning the United States and Canada. There are a total of 5 neighbornets of YM Brothers in the MidWest region. Young Muslim Brothers, within this network, is a dynamic youth group focused on cultivating a deep understanding of Islamic principles and putting them into practice. By fostering an Islamic atmosphere that encourages brotherhood and camaraderie, Young Muslim Brothers provides a nurturing space for its members to become more familiar with Islam and its teachings. The ultimate goal is to inspire these young individuals to be torchbearers and future leaders of Islamic work in Chicago and America, emphasizing the significance of recognizing, understanding, and fulfilling their individual and collective obligations as Muslims.
WHO WE ARE?
Our
History
Young Muslims (YM) traces its origins back to the early 1990s when Muslim youth groups emerged in various parts of the United States, including northern New Jersey, New York City, and Chicago. Recognizing the need for a unified national network, YM was established as a result of these collaborative efforts. In 1995, the organization took its first significant steps by establishing a charter and a national coordinator. Over two decades, YM has witnessed remarkable growth, expanding its presence to encompass seven official regions across five states. During this time, the organization has spearheaded numerous national initiatives and engaged in impactful collaborations, contributing to the development of dedicated Islamic workers and drawing thousands of individuals closer to the teachings of Islam
